Examinations are an important moment in every pupil's educational journey. They require concentration, preparation and a peaceful environment where learners can demonstrate what they have studied. Unfortunately, pupils at Mwanyagiri Primary School face an additional challenge that should never be part of their examination experience: the lack of adequate sanitation facilities.

During examination periods, pupils struggle to find appropriate places to ease themselves whenever they need to use the toilet. With the existing facility no longer adequately serving the school population, some children have to seek alternative sanitation options outside the school premises.

This situation is particularly challenging for candidates sitting their examinations. Instead of concentrating fully on their examination papers, some pupils worry about where they will go when nature calls. Leaving the examination environment to search for a toilet can cause unnecessary interruptions, discomfort and loss of valuable examination time.

We believe that no child should have to experience such difficulties while working towards their academic future.

Through the construction of a new toilet at Mwanyagiri Primary School, F SSIBU Mission Foundation - Uganda hopes to provide a more reliable sanitation solution for over 500 pupils.

The old pit latrine, which has served the school for approximately 40 years, is now full and overflowing. Its condition has left children and teachers struggling to access appropriate toilet facilities.

Our proposed project will provide a new, stronger and more hygienic toilet with separate facilities for boys and girls, provisions for teachers, handwashing stations and improved menstrual hygiene arrangements.

We want this facility to serve not only pupils but also teachers, volunteers, parents and community members attending school meetings and activities.
