Schools provide important spaces for classroom learning, community meetings, mentorship and child empowerment programmes.
Mwanagiri Primary School serves as a meeting point for pupils, teachers, parents, volunteers and community stakeholders.
However, inadequate sanitation affects the comfort of everyone who participates in activities at the school.
The existing pit latrine is full and deteriorating, making it difficult to provide appropriate facilities for visitors and regular users.
Volunteers conducting counselling sessions need a suitable environment, while parents and local leaders attending meetings also require access to safe toilets.
Constructing a new toilet will make the school premises more suitable for these activities.
It will support community meetings, child protection discussions, mentorship programmes and educational awareness sessions without unnecessary interruptions caused by inadequate sanitation.
The facility will also benefit teachers, support staff and pupils who depend on the school every day.
We hope that improved sanitation will encourage more parents and community members to participate in school activities.
At F SSIBU Mission Foundation – Uganda, we believe a healthy school environment strengthens every programme taking place within it.
