The impact of poverty and climate change of Malaria on our children

By Adama Faruk | Project Coordinator 2

Children of our community
Children of our community
Dear Family, Friends and Supporters of Serendipity Healthcare Foundation,
Malaria remains the number one in rate of mortality of children under five age and pregnant women rising from 34% last November report 2024 to 45%. This is because of rising temperatures, changing rainfall patterns and the rising economic hardships in the country making Malaria a persistent threat to public health.
Our rural communities who are our target beneficiaries are most vulnerable to Malaria as they are more into survival  than taking care of their health thus our strategy is distribution of Insecticide Treated Nets, indoor residual spraying, antimalarial drugs and Malaria education. However, research on our communities has shown growing resistance of Malaria parasite to some antimalarial drugs, ITNS and indoor residual spray thus our focus this year is more emphasis on sanitation and Malaria education.
Our campaign took us to Gidan Tarwara community in Ungogo Local Government Council in Kano where we talked about good hygiene practices and sanitation and also distribution of Insecticide Treated Nets to 15 households.
Kindly follow our story to see the impact of our project on our communities on
Best regards,
Adama Faruk
