Greetings from SERUDS
In our project locations many of the poor women, widows & girls are idle with out doing any work and some of them are working as daily wage labourers migrating to some other towns and cities by leaving their children and elder parents at home. Eventhough they have desire to learn fashion designing skills, due to lack of resources they are idle at homes and depending on some other persons in the families. As part of our regular ongoing initiatives, the women & girls from the villages came to know that about SERUDS and approached us to provide skill development trainings in fashion designing, zari zardousi work for their sustainable income.
SERUDS have been conducting skill development vocational trainings to the destitute women & girls in around Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh since 2007. As per the request of the women and girls SERUDS have been identified 25 women & girls age group between 16 to 35years per batch for 6 months. This is ongoing initiative we almost cover 500 members in a year in the feild of skills training. In the Praja Nagar, B.Thandarapadu (post) 50 women & girls have been learning vocational skills training in fashion designing. Many of the women and girls are able to earn income Rs.4000 with their small micro setup at their villages. SERUDS have been distributing USHA branded sewing machines for the poor girls for their sustainable livelihoods. With this the beneficiaries are able to start micro small enterprises and operating from their villages.
