The Future Depends on the Next Generation

Dear Project Supporters,

Sometimes it is challenging to believe that a dollar makes a difference, but it does make an impact. Every dollar donated is like a pebble being thrown into a pond; that pebble causes a ripple in the water that affects a large area around it. The future depends on us and if we educate the future leaders and empower them with knowledge we will cause a positive ripple effect across the world.

More than 30% of the African population are between ages 10 and 24 and will remain that way for the next 20 years. When the numbers of working-age people surpass the numbers of dependents, countries can experience an economic boom, a phenomenon known as a “demographic dividend.” But first, young people must be enabled to contribute to their countries and communities.

“Educated, healthy and productive young people have a better chance of breaking out of poverty and making positive contributions to their communities,” said Erna Solberg, the prime minister of Norway.

School are back in session. From the reports that we have received, the kids are learning well. Unfortunately, admission is down at some schools. Due to economic pressures, many families are simply not able to cover the costs of uniforms and school-related expenses. So the start of school has been delayed for some kids. Unfortunately, this may be permanent for some kids.

Your donation of $40 today will provide a uniform an a pair of shoes for a kid, a future leader of Liberia.  This would ensure that 1 more kid does not stay home and miss out on learning for days or weeks.   Thanks for your support.

With great appreciation,
The Develop Africa Team
