Summary
Every year CRAN Foundation assists about 180 vulnerable and abused children in the restoration of their rights. With 45 years of experience, we know that the speed and quality of the restorative process heavily depend on the professional skills of our teams. Our goal is to assist adults who acknowledge their responsibility in guaranteeing children's rights and teach them how to provide complete and effective care.
Challenge
Abused and vulnerable kids require comprehensive assistance to overcome their situations. The procedure is faced with major difficulties due to family changes, legal intricacies, and children's exceptional needs. Inadequate resources and lack of training can obstruct the process. Right now, in Colombia, the recovery process can last up to 48 months, which drastically affects the future development of children. CRAN has reduced the time to 14 months on average by strengthening care abilities. Our goal is to bring this down to less than one year while prioritizing the child's best interests.
Solution
Our plan is to continually develop and educate the teams working with these children. This will involve specialized training, interdisciplinary coordination, updated resources, and a system of ongoing monitoring and evaluation. This method not only makes restoring rights easier, but also enhances care quality. This fosters a secure atmosphere, which is great for the welfare of abused and vulnerable kids.
2.1 General Objective
The goal of this proposal is to make the process of helping abused and vulnerable children in CRAN faster and better. The new process will take less than one year on average and provide the child with complete and effective care that protects their best interests.
2.2 Specific objectives
180 kids under protection live in the CRAN Foundation yearly. Our goal is to help them regain the right to be part of a loving family. A team of 50 CRAN workers provides all necessary care.
The proposal focuses on continuous capacity building and training of teams working with abused and vulnerable children. This involves:
Specialized training: providing specialized education and training to professionals who interact directly with children, such as social workers, psychologists and lawyers, to ensure that they are up to date on best practices and therapeutic approaches.
Interdisciplinary coordination: Encourage collaboration and coordination between different professionals involved in the process, ensuring comprehensive care and a multidisciplinary approach.
Up-to-date resources and tools: Provide teams with up-to-date resources and tools to facilitate effective assessment, intervention and follow-up.
Continuous monitoring and evaluation: Establish a continuous monitoring and evaluation system to ensure constant improvement in the quality of care and compliance with children's rights.
Long-term impact: The length of CRAN's child restoration processes will be significantly reduced, which means children will get the care and support they need for their recovery and development in a loving and nurturing family much faster. This reduction is expected to be less than one year on average.
Additionally, there will be sustained improvement in the quality of care. It is expected that training and updated tools will enhance care for abused and vulnerable children, creating a safer and more nurturing environment.
This will effectively promote the best interests of the child. By optimizing processes and building capacity within our teams, we expect to effectively promote the best interests of the child at every stage of the rights restoration process. This will ensure that each child receives sensitive and comprehensive care that meets their individual needs.
