Project Report | Mar 1, 2024
Driving personal and professional development

By Margarita Pilier | Project Coordinator

Dear donor, please accept our heartiest greeting.  Without a doubt, your contribution to this project plays a key role in helping to achieve the dreams of the young people living in the vulnerable communities of the Punta Cana region .

We remain focused on providing better life opportunities to the students and all of the members of the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School, located in the community of Veron, through the comprehensive training, promotion of human values and the pursuit of educational excellence.

Through this educational center we advocate for youth workforce inclusion. One of our goals is preparing the youth for professional development and helping them get placed in jobs.

This center continues making it possible for young people with limited economic resources to receive a technical degree in the areas of Maintenance (Refrigeration / Electricity), Bars and Restaurants, Computer Science and Cooking. In addition, it has an English language teaching program and co-curricular activities (art, culture, community service, environmental education) that seek the comprehensive training and their successful insertion in the labor market.

Your support has made a great difference !.

We are delighted to inform to you about the recent achievements:

  • Three students performed at the seventh edition of the “Punta Cana Poetry Festival” (at Puntacana Village), reciting their own poems. Also 15 students enjoyed the cultural event as part of the audience.
  • We continue developing the Digital Woman program, thanks to the partnership with Junior Acchievement, the female students are being remotely trained in financial education, design of web pages and cybersecurity.
  • The Israeli ambassador visited the school to follow up on the vegetable garden project, inaugurated a few months ago, and to discuss about the possibilities of developing other projects under the auspices of the Israeli embassy in the DR
  •  Launch of the new edition of the Voluntary Military Service program together with the Ministry of Defense of the DR, which provides training in human values and encourages love and service to the country.
  • With pride and joy, the National Independence Day was celebrated on the last February. The students performed dances, songs and acting.

Please see the pictures attached to this report

In the upcoming months we will keep you updated on the progress of our project.

If you have any comment, advice or question, please let us know and we will respond as best we can.

Thank you very much again for your support, we really appreciate it !

Best wishes !
