Dear donor, please accept a warm greeting.  We would like to start our report by expressing to you our sincere gratitude. Your donation is making a huge difference in the vulnerable communities of the Punta Cana region through the improvement of the educational quality of this school

This and all the reports to follow will update you periodically on our progress and how your donation work in the community of Veron, at the eastern region of the  Dominican Republic.

Through this educational center we advocate for youth workforce inclusion. Over 300 Dominican young adults with scarce resources attend the educational center with the objective of preparing the youth for workforce development and helping them get placed in jobs.

This center continues making it possible for young peoples with limited economic resources to receive a technical degree in the areas of Maintenance (Refrigeration / Electricity), Bars and Restaurants, Computer Science and Cooking. In addition, it has an English language teaching program and co-curricular activities (art, culture, community service, environmental education) that seek the comprehensive training of young people and their successful insertion in the labor market.

Educating in values is one of the main objectives of the center; instill in students human values (faith, honesty, respect, integrity, justice, solidarity) that serve as a guide to live harmoniously in community and be valuable citizens.

The school is one of the key human resources providers for local companies and allowing these girls and boys a hopeful and independent economic future. The school mission is evidence of the foundation's commitment to provide professional development opportunities to young residents in the less favored communities of the Punta Cana region.
We are delighted to share with you the recent achievements:

  • 15 students participated in an artistic-cultural activity run by the Urbe Icónica entity, in which they painted Lime Dolls (faceless) representative of Dominican crafts together with several renowned Dominican artists, with the theme of Punta Cana as a tourist destination. The dolls are being exhibited at the Punta Cana international airport so that local and foreign visitors learn more about the Dominican identity and culture.
  • 3 female students performed at the “Sixth Punta Cana Poetry Festival” (at Puntacana Village), reciting their own poems. Also 20 students enjoyed the cultural event as part of the audience.
  • We reached an collaboration agreement with the Israeli embassy in the DR to develop an innovativevegetable garden, we have already started preparing the land

 Please see 4 pictures attached

In the other hand, we are planning to expand the facilities of the school by building new 4 classrooms  due to the facilities are insufficient to meet the growing demand of the community.

The new versatile space will also be used as a multipurpose room when necessary, in order to house training, co-curricular, and recreational activities among others.

In the upcoming months we will keep you updated on the progress of our project. If you have any comment, advice or question, please let us know and we will respond as best we can.

Thank you very much again for your support, we truly appreciate it !

Best wishes !

Dear donor, please accept a warm greeting.  Thank you for your donation, we are thrilled to have your support. Through your donation we have been able to accomplish many goals and continue working towards to offering an affordable and quality education that fosters the professional and personal development of the young beneficiaries. You truly make the difference to us, and we are extremely grateful!

We are delighted to share with you these pictures of the 17th Graduation Ceremony of the school that took place a couple of months ago..  70 teens  were graduated from high school (technical training included) and some students and teachers were awarded for their performance.

The Principal of the school expressed his satisfaction for the achievements of the last school year and exhorted the graduates to never forget the human values that were instilled in them.

From 2004 to date 1, 260 teens have graduated from high school.

On the other hand, the eye of hurricane Fiona passed almost directly through Punta Cana and the Altagracia province a few days ago, impacting the infrastructure, causing flooding, and loss of roofs and homes.

Fortunately all is fine at the school and the region is recovering at a good pace.

Since there was only minor landscaping damage the polytechnic started the 2022-2023 school year a few days ago as planned..

Currently there are 300 students, we are very excited about their return to the class rooms

In the upcoming months we will keep you updated on the progress of our project. If you have any comment, advice or question, please let us know and we will respond as best we can.

Dear donor, please receive a warm greeting. It is with great satisfaction that we share with you this report about the actions and the achievements of our project in the last months, thanks to generous and committed donors like you.  Your support and trustfulness in this project means a lot to us.

We continue working tirelessly in order to get a better life conditions for all the members of our school in the underserved community of Verón, through the improvement of this educational center.

This and all the reports to follow will update you periodically on our progress and how your donation work in the community of Veron, eastern region of the  Dominican Republic.

We are proud to report that during a recent Mathematics competition conducted by the Ministry of Education, three students achieved excellent scores, ranking among the best in the region. In addition, two students will compete in the next few days in a national Natural Sciences competition.

On the other hand, we continue to promote the co-curricular activities as they fuel learning by stimulating creative thinking, improving social and organizational skills, developing interests and talents, and offering the opportunity for students to unplug and do something they truly enjoy

At school we have been able to verify the great benefits of co-curricular activities

• Social skills:  It is very important that students connect with other people, there is power in building social networks

• Academic achievement: Participating in an activity that they are passionate about improves the functioning of students' brains. It allows them to develop concentration and time management skills.

• Stress relief working on homework: Turning in assignments on time, studying for tests, personal and family situations, and thinking about the future can sometimes overwhelm students. Co-curricular activities give them the opportunity to focus their efforts elsewhere. For an hour or two, they can escape whatever is stressing them out and relax into something productive.

• Broaden your horizons: By participating in co-curricular activities, students find a new interest, talent, or even a career goal. Not everyone finds their inspiration in the classroom. They may also find that new experiences inform and shape their views towards their academic subjects.

We are delighted to share with you the following activities: .

  • A group of students attended the screening of the documentary "Island Naturalist" about the environment on our island, endangered species and conservation, which took place in Puntacana Village. In it they had the opportunity to learn about the experiences told by the producers of the documentary
  • The female volleyball team won the local interscholastic tournament championship
  • A group of students attended the Punta Cana Book Fair 2022, where they learned more about outstanding writers from the eastern region of the country and their literary work, participated in a workshop on how to write and tell stories and an acting workshop, among other activities

 Please see the pictures attached.

In the upcoming months we will keep you updated on the progress of our project. If you have any comment, advice or question, please let us know and we will respond as best we can.

Thank you very much again for your support, we truly appreciate it !

We are very happy about the return of the students to the class rooms. Finally back to school !

During an emotional ceremony we celebrated the start of the 2021-2022 school year. The educational community (parents, students, teachers, employees) has expressed their joy for the reunion and the expected return to classes in face-to-face mode. Of course, we continue to comply with the health and safety protocols.

We began with optimism a school year of great expectations and challenges. We continue to bet on quality education and comprehensive training based on human values.

Although virtual education (due to the pandemic) allowed classes to continue to develop successfully, once this school year has begun it has been confirmed that the face-to-face education model has greater benefits in the learning of students.  Presence is vital not only for learning, but for the development of social-emotional skills.

Other benefits of being present:

• Friendship ties are created and values such as companionship and solidarity are strengthened.

• Face-to-face classes stimulate motivation, generating positive emotions that combat stress and feelings of loneliness.

• In the classroom, all students have the same possibilities of approaching learning, there are no limitations due to poor internet connection or technical problems with digital platforms.

• The student has a more active role, where it is he (with the help of the teachers) who builds his knowledge and his own training, which is essential in the face-to-face model.

In the other hand, a few days ago we conducted a medical mission focused on ophthalmology  together with “Center for Fighting Blindness”  that performed (by using a mobile clinic) the basic examinations to detect ophthalmological pathology, 140 students were served and 25 were diagnosed with visual acuity disorders, who were referred to the aforementioned center (located in Veron) for a very low cost medical consultation.

Some new features in the facilities:

  • The hospitality training workshops (cooking / bartender and waiter skills) have new mobile classrooms
  • The doors and windows of the school have been improved in terms of security

Please see the pictures attached to this report..

We are delighted to share with you these pictures of the 16th Graduation Ceremony of the school which took place yesterday July 29.   72 youth were graduated from high school (technical training included) and some students and teachers were awarded for their performance.

The Principal of the school expressed his satisfaction for the achievements of the last school year (despite the challenges of the virtual education) and exhorted the graduates to never forget the human values that were instilled in them.

Given the current circumstances, we decided to do a short and very simple ceremony. In fact, we had two ceremonies (one in the morning and the other in the afternoon), it is that to say that the graduates and their closest relatives were divided into two groups as part of the safety protocols. But it was still very meaningful and emotional, as always

The summer vacation just started. The 2021-2022 school year will start in the next September, which will be developed face to face according to the government decision given that the pandemic is under control and the national vaccination program is going very well.

We are very excited about the return of the students to the class rooms  !

Thank you very much again for your support, we truly appreciate it !
