Don't Panic, It's natural production!

Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is a native and local organization in Bangladesh that is working for 9 thematic area and among them one part is livelihoods where as tried to improve the living condition by practicing local knowledge and habits. Rearing of duck and Sheep is an easy task for the local women because they got this knowledge from their born.
For this mission, BEDS develop a community-based cooperative that is function/ run by the local coastal women namely BANOJIBI where they are rearing sheep and duct that is increasing day by day through breeding. Cooperative members conduct their business by this element and earing a amount that are shared among all of the members of cooperatives. It’s a long lasting income generating for the local women.
BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.

Using mangrove for sustainable production
Bangladesh is a low land country with its growing population and have a vast population that has been needed more and more food. That is unsatisfied condition for the small country and excessive use of chemical fertilize that reduces the production capacity of soil. In that situation, Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) which is working for the betterment of human and nature. Find a model that will produce fish and vegetable in a same land. In this method, farming and adaptation is considered in same case so that changing weather, disaster and degradation of soil system can improve gradually.
In this sense, shrimp are farming in fish farm where as mangrove species plated in farm so that mangrove leaf can be use a natural food for the fish and dyke is also using as vegetable cultivation area so that any family can survive with proper nutrient. BEDS want to expand this concept in all over the country.

Farming is a natural practice in all over the world but for the vast population, people are turning into organic farming to conventional farming approach so that produce a larger amount in a short time. But by the utilization of chemical fertilizer, fertility rate of soil is decreasing day by day. For this case, initiative of Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) through the BANOJIBI cooperative initiative in coastal community of Bangladesh develop an eco-village where all of the farmers use compost fertilizer for their agricultural land. Also producing the vegetable by natural process.
BEDS want to upscaling the practices among the country so that we can get a healthy environment with healthy food.
