KIFA: Advocating for Quality Education

Because of being students who dropped out school from Kole District, Northern Uganda, due to a number of factors; being taught to safeguard quality education in future and having better knowledge on how to protect that particular education; students of Kole Intellectual Forum are viability being prepare to those that will be campaigning for quality education.

This processes are expected to be championed today when they are at school and thereafter when they are out of school by making them to participate in and start local initiatives, advocate for policy changes at all government administrative levels, and to collaborate with organizations like the Global Campaign for Education and Kole Intellectual Forum among others.

Kole Intellectual Forum are training these student to focus their campaign on issues such as improving on educational resources, enhancing teaching quality, ensuring equal access in education for all the children, and promoting positive school environments; as well as raising awareness through public events, working with school leadership to identify and solve problems, and supporting broader national and international advocacy efforts. 

Students being engaged in Poetry

Other than engaging students to participate in saying poems those are meant to improve on their language skills like vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency, at the same time developing memory, creativity, and emotional expression; through oral recitation and performance of poetry at the Institute of Home Economics of Kole Intellectual Forum students make the language learning more engaging and has helped them to improve on their ability to write and to make comprehensive complex ideas.

Through this learning processes, in language and literacy development; these students are:

• Enhancing vocabulary and comprehension: Poetry exposes them to a wide range of words and their different shades of meaning, which improves both their vocabulary and their ability to understand language.
• Improving on their speaking and listening skills: by reciting poetry they develop a student's oral skills, such as pronunciation and expressive reading, and encouraging them to be active in listening to rhythm and sound.
• Supporting literacy: through oral poetry and nursery rhymes, these have helped them to build a foundational foundation for early literacy, helping them to learn language sooner and better.
• Stimulating creativity: by engaging them in poetry, the students are encouraged to play with words in the language she is using and these have helped them to find new relationships between words, sounds, and ideas.
