Hi everyone! Thank you for your support, and today, we would like to share our latest update:
We held LEAP workshop at Kaisei junior high school!
The workshop help students identify the problems in society they want to change, and we have held it at nine schools so far. But this time, we worked with 300 students at Kaisei, which is a prestigeous private school. It was the first time for us to do a workshop with such large number.
It seemed that the word "changemaker" stuck with many of them. One of the students started the initiative to reform the rule about smartphones at school after the workshop.
The teacher said, "the students seemed to open up their mind during the workshop than normal time. Being able to be honest about their feelings was very precious, and I was glad to witness that."
The workshop may not change their mind and attitude instantly, but the fact that all 300 students knowi what changemakers could mean that they feel safe psychologically when they want to create change at school and in society.
We will keep working on spreading this changemaker mindset among youth in Japan!
Warm regards,
Yoi Ashida on behalf of Ashoka Japan Team
