Our community shop is in danger!
We have been told to vacate by July 15th!
We've been providing a weeks’ worth of essential groceries and cooked food for £5-£10, as well as community activities, to over 270 households each week in North Lambeth, which is a deprived part of London. We've been providing volunteering and work opportunities to local disabled people and vulnerable young people, and we provided free food to 5,000 households during the first lockdown.
Our landlord, The Black Prince Community Hub - CEO Kirk Harrison, served us notice to quit and vacate the premises based on 2 unsolicited enquiries about the premises and cost.
We were given just two weeks to re-apply for our concession licence without any information - making it clear in no uncertain terms that the offer was never intended to be taken seriously and we have been given no opportunity to meet the new undisclosed offer.
So many families will be going hungry this summer holiday if we can not stay or move to another space in 6 weeks!
All funds we raise will be going towards our moving costs so that we can set up again as quickly as possible in a new location.
So please support our online petition and donate generously to help us with the upheaval costs
