Help Us Build a School for Children from Low-Income Families

By mufid | Project Staff

For many children in rural Indonesia, education is not just about learning—it is about survival.
Born into families struggling to meet daily needs, their dreams are often fragile. School fees feel heavy. Books become luxuries. And too often, education is interrupted by economic hardship.

These children do not lack intelligence.
They lack access.

At Punthuk Sewu Learning Center in Bantul, Yogyakarta, we have been supporting underprivileged children since 2023 through tutoring, character education, and vocational exposure. We have witnessed how consistent guidance transforms insecurity into confidence and hesitation into hope.

But informal learning is no longer enough.

To truly break the cycle of poverty, we must build a formal, accredited school—one that provides structured education, recognized qualifications, and practical skills for long-term economic independence.

We are working to establish:

  • A Junior Secondary School (SMP level)

  • A Vocational Training Center (LPK)

  • Safe student dormitories for children from vulnerable households

  • STEM classrooms and laboratories

  • A library and prayer space

  • Health and sanitation facilities

Our goal is to support up to 400 students from low-income families by 2028, creating a stable and nurturing environment where they can learn, grow, and prepare for a sustainable future.

This is more than a construction project.
It is a lifeline.
It is a pathway out of poverty.
It is an investment in dignity.

When you help us build this school, you are helping children stay in education, gain real-world skills, and lift their families toward a better future.

Together, we can ensure that poverty does not decide a child’s destiny.

Help us build a school where opportunity begins.
