Ramadan Giving: A Month of Compassion in Action

By Nur Abdullah | Project Staff

Ramadan is a month of reflection, gratitude, and multiplied blessings. It is a time when compassion moves from the heart into action.

For many families in rural Indonesia, however, Ramadan is also a reminder of economic struggle. While some prepare for celebration, others quietly worry about how to sustain their children’s education. Rising costs, unstable incomes, and limited access to quality schooling continue to shape their future.

This Ramadan, your generosity can change that.

Since 2023, Punthuk Sewu Learning Center has supported underprivileged children in Bantul, Yogyakarta through academic mentoring, character education, and vocational exposure. We have seen how guidance transforms hesitation into confidence. But informal support is no longer enough.

To truly break the cycle of poverty, we must build a formal, structured vocational school—one that provides recognized qualifications, practical skills, and a safe boarding environment rooted in strong values.

We are preparing to establish:

  • A Formal Junior Secondary School (SMP)

  • A Vocational Training Center (LPK)

  • STEM laboratories and classrooms

  • Student dormitories

  • A library,  and health facilities

By 2028, we aim to serve 400 students from underprivileged families.

This Ramadan, your donation is more than charity.

It is:

  • A classroom where curiosity grows

  • A dormitory that shelters ambition

  • A laboratory where innovation begins

  • A pathway out of poverty

In the spirit of Sadaqah Jariyah, your gift continues to give long after Ramadan ends. Every brick laid, every book placed on a shelf, every student enrolled becomes part of your lasting impact.

Give for our school.
Give for their dignity.
Give for a future where opportunity replaces limitation.

This Ramadan, let compassion build something that lasts.
