End Early Child Marriage in rural Uganda

During this reporting period, our project focused on leadership development and empowerment for girls. Mentorship sessions provided training in communication, confidence building, teamwork, and decision-making.

Many girls demonstrated growing leadership skills by participating more actively in school discussions and group activities. They expressed greater confidence in their abilities and stronger ambition for their futures.

Community outreach activities engaged parents and local leaders in conversations about supporting girls’ education and protecting their rights. These discussions encouraged families to invest in their daughters’ education and future success.

Teachers reported positive changes in student engagement, including improved attendance and increased participation in learning activities among supported girls.

Community leaders continued to advocate for child protection and promote gender equality. Their involvement is helping create environments where girls can grow into leaders.

Thank you for your continued support of our End Early Child Marriage in Rural Uganda project. Your generosity is helping communities invest in girls’ education, protection, and long-term success.

During this reporting period, our project focused on strengthening community ownership of girls’ education. Through awareness meetings and dialogue sessions, parents, teachers, and local leaders discussed the importance of investing time, resources, and encouragement in girls’ futures.

Many families expressed a renewed commitment to prioritizing education over early marriage. These positive shifts in attitude are helping create stronger support systems at household level, where girls are encouraged to remain in school and pursue their goals.

Girls participating in mentorship sessions continued to benefit from life-skills training focused on leadership, confidence building, and decision-making. These sessions helped them understand their rights and develop stronger motivation to succeed academically.

Teachers reported improved attendance and increased participation among girls involved in the project. Schools continue to play a central role in identifying vulnerable learners and supporting their educational progress.

Community leaders also strengthened advocacy efforts, promoting child protection messages and encouraging families to support girls’ education. Their leadership is reinforcing positive change within communities.
