STANDING TOGETHER FOR GIRLS' RIGHTS

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your continued commitment to our End Early Child Marriage in Rural Uganda project. Your support is helping communities stand together to protect girls’ rights and promote education.

During this reporting period, our project continued to strengthen community awareness about child rights and the importance of preventing early marriage. Parents, teachers, and local leaders participated in discussions aimed at promoting equality and protecting vulnerable girls.

Many community members demonstrated a stronger commitment to supporting girls’ education and ensuring their safety. These conversations are helping foster shared responsibility for protecting children.

Girls involved in mentorship programs received life-skills training that focused on leadership, confidence, and decision-making. These sessions helped them better understand their rights and stay motivated to pursue education.

Teachers reported improvements in student engagement, attendance, and participation among supported girls. Schools continue to play an important role in supporting vulnerable learners.

Community leaders also strengthened advocacy efforts, encouraging reporting of child protection cases and promoting girls’ education. Their leadership is helping create safer and more supportive environments.

Standing together as communities is key to protecting girls’ rights. With your support, we are building stronger systems that safeguard children and empower them to succeed.

Thank you for standing with us for girls’ rights.
