THE POWER OF EDUCATION AND MENTORSHIP

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Friends,

We are grateful for your continued support of our efforts to end child marriage and empower girls in rural Uganda. Your generosity is helping unlock the power of education and mentorship in transforming young lives.

This reporting period focused on combining education support with mentorship to ensure girls remain engaged in school. Girls participated in life-skills training that emphasized leadership, communication, and decision-making.

Mentorship sessions provided safe spaces for girls to discuss challenges affecting their education and receive guidance from mentors. Many participants reported increased motivation and a stronger sense of direction in their academic journeys.

Parents and caregivers engaged in community discussions that highlighted the importance of investing in girls’ education. These conversations encouraged families to support their daughters and prioritize schooling over early marriage.

Teachers observed positive changes in student engagement, including improved attendance and increased participation in classroom activities. These outcomes reflect the impact of consistent encouragement and support.

Community leaders continued to advocate for child protection and promote awareness of girls’ rights. Their leadership is helping strengthen community commitment to education.

Education and mentorship together create powerful change. Through your support, girls are gaining the tools they need to succeed academically and personally.

Thank you for making this impact possible.
