HELPING GIRLS STAY IN SCHOOL

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Donors and Supporters,

Thank you for your continued support of our End Early Child Marriage in Rural Uganda project. Your generosity is helping vulnerable girls remain in school and build a foundation for brighter futures.

During this reporting period, our efforts focused on addressing factors that contribute to school dropout and early marriage. Through community outreach activities, parents and caregivers participated in discussions about the importance of education and the long-term benefits it provides for girls, families, and communities.

Many families demonstrated increased commitment to supporting their daughters' educational journeys. These encouraging shifts in attitude are helping create home environments where girls are motivated to pursue learning and achieve their goals.

Girls participating in mentorship sessions received guidance on leadership, confidence building, and personal development. The sessions also provided safe spaces where participants could discuss challenges affecting their education and receive encouragement from mentors and peers.

Teachers reported positive outcomes among girls involved in project activities. Improved attendance, stronger classroom participation, and increased motivation to learn were observed in several schools. These achievements highlight the value of combining educational support with mentorship and community engagement.

Local leaders continued to advocate for children's rights and raise awareness about the harmful consequences of child marriage. Their involvement is helping strengthen child protection efforts and encourage communities to prioritize education.

Keeping girls in school remains one of the most effective ways to prevent child marriage and promote long-term success. Through your support, more girls are gaining the opportunity to continue their education and pursue their dreams.

Thank you for helping make this progress possible.
