EMPOWERING GIRLS THROUGH COMMUNITY SUPPORT

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Donors and Supporters,

Thank you for your continued support of our End Early Child Marriage in Rural Uganda project. Your generosity is helping empower vulnerable girls through strong community support and increased access to educational opportunities.

During this reporting period, we continued working closely with families, schools, local leaders, and community members to promote girls' education and prevent child marriage. Through community meetings and awareness activities, participants discussed the importance of protecting girls and creating environments where they can learn, grow, and achieve their aspirations.

Many parents demonstrated increased understanding of the challenges faced by girls and the long-term benefits of education. These conversations encouraged families to take active roles in supporting their daughters and ensuring they remain in school.

Girls participating in mentorship programs gained valuable life skills and confidence through regular training sessions. They learned about leadership, communication, decision-making, and personal development. Many participants expressed greater determination to complete their education and pursue meaningful careers.

Teachers reported encouraging improvements in attendance, participation, and engagement among girls involved in project activities. The support provided through mentorship and community involvement continues to strengthen students' motivation and commitment to learning.

Local leaders also remained active advocates for children's rights and child protection. Their efforts are helping raise awareness about the harmful effects of child marriage while encouraging positive social change.

The progress we continue to witness is a reflection of what can be achieved when communities work together to support girls. Your support is helping create opportunities that will benefit young people for years to come.

Thank you for making this important work possible.
