Head teacher and computer quiz competition winner
Great news: We have a thank you video message for YOU from the Mrs. Jojo, Head Teacher, at the FAWE school. This video was recorded at the end of a computer quiz competition.
In this video she expresses her sincere appreciation to Develop Africa Donors (YOU included) that have helped make the lab and training possible. She explains that the school is very grateful for the on-going training that YOU help to provide. It is your on-going support that makes this possible. Without your support, this would not be on-going.
She explains that the provision of computers and training is a dream come true - because the children are less-privileged. FAWE is delighted to be able to boast of having a computer lab. She tells us that this does not exist in other institutions. She states that the completed quiz competition demonstrated that girls, if given the opportunity, will excel. Age does not count as the youngest girl came first. She says "Bravo" to all donors and invites more support.
Watch the Video
Mark your calendars: On June 12th - online donations to this project will be matched at 50%. This means that your donation of $50 will become $75 - helping to provide more training for these precious girls. YOUR donation will give additional opportunities to these girls to excel. This is a great way to make your donation go even further. Could you help us secure these additional funds by making your donation on June 12th - as early in the day as possible to ensure we secure the matching funds? Thanks again for your support.
Thanks again for helping to give additional opportunities to these girls to excel... and for making their dreams come true!

A Billion Times Thank You for Changing our Lives
By Sylvester Renner | President of Develop Africa and Project Leader
![Thank you GlobalGiving]()
Thank you GlobalGiving
Warm greetings.
Here's some good news to warm your heart (if you are in a cold climate) or make you feel "cool" and special (if you are in a warm climate). School is in session and the computer classes that you help sponsor are in full swing. The girls and school officials are so very appreciative of your support. Providing this training has been image-breaking and image-shaping for these girls.
The training has been image-breaking from the perspective that this is helping to break off scarcity, poverty and limited thinking. Receiving this training has lifted the limits, their sights and helped them the girls dream bigger. It is image-shaping from the perspective that the consciousness of these girls has been lifted higher. They now realize that they are valuable. They realize that you care enough to consistently support their education. They are now taking their education more seriously than ever before. They now realize that their future can and will be bright and better. They are now thinking possibilities instead of limited or no options.
This change and shift that we are effecting together is priceless! We deeply value your support!
This report includes a number of photos of the girls cheerfully holding up thank you signs. Please know that your support is deeply appreciated. As one of the sign read: "A Billion Times - Thank You for Changing Our Lives". Thanks so very much!
The best way to help us continue this impact is to sign up for a recurring donation. Please help us continue this impact by signing up today. Thanks for your support!

Our Computer Trainee Show Us How to Format Text - Proof of Training Effectiveness
By Sylvester Renner | Project Leader
![Josephine - computer trainee]()
Josephine - computer trainee
At what age did you learn how to format text - making it bold, change the size and color? We are delighted to share with you a video from the Develop Africa computer lab where one of the girls - Josephine, walks us through what she has learned - how to open a document and format text. She proudly shows us what has she has absorbed, skillfully demonstrating her knowledge.
Background information about Josephine: Josephine is a pupil at the FAWE primary school. Her favorite subject is English Language and her hobby is reading novels. She wants to be a banker when she grows. Her father is deceased and she has four sisters, three brothers. One of her uncles is a baker and the main provider of the home with monthly income of $100 - not enough to cover the basic needs of the home. Josephine wanted to become computer literate as this will help prepare her for her chosen career as a banker.
Josephine is currently thirteen years old. While you may know of children her age that are more proficient than her, we are humbled and delighted to be able to provide this training to her. Considering that there are many children and youths in Africa that are not able to do what she demos, we are over-joyed that she has already mastered this. Such training is in high demand in Africa.
Josephine's Expertise: Josephine has not only learned this how to do this - but she is also able to walk us through this effortlessly and effectively! She is clearly very competent at this. "Thank you for the demo and Congratulations Josephine!"
Together, as donors and supporters, we have laid a solid computer proficiency foundation in the lives of Josephine and many others. We are deeply grateful for your on-going support that enables us to do this and so much more. Thanks so much!
Helps Us Train More Girls: As the calendar year draws to a close we would like to invite you to make a special gift towards expanding our training sessions. This would enable us to train many more girls like Josephine. Imagine the impact we are creating on the next generation! We also have the opportunity to open another lab at a community center and welcome your support. Please also consider signing up for a recurring donation of $10, $25 or more. This would help us do so much more. Thanks for your support!
