Computers Shipped, Special Educational Software and Building Under Construction

By Sylvester Renner | Project Leader

Warm greetings

We are very happy to report that we have shipped out a set of computers with exceptional software for the computer lab.  These computers have been set up with a special educational suite that is ideal for self-learning and instructor-led learning.

This educational software will convert a PC (sometimes even an older PC) into an educational workstation which doesn't need to be connected to the internet (which is a real issue to consider in Africa), but supplies all the necessary educational tools and information.  Full details are available in the attached PDF file.  Please take a moment to review this. A photo showing the desktop of one of the computers is also provided below. We anticipate that the computers will get to Sierra Leone by the end of January.

The building that will house the computer lab is under construction and slated to be completed next year.  The building will house several other classrooms.  Progress has been slow but sure.

We are happy to be finally making tangible progress and we look forward to getting the lab up soon.  With the software that we have obtained the lab will significantly enhance learning opportunities.

We look forward to your on-going support as we utilize the tool of technology to enhance education.  We welcome your donation today to help us furnish and finish setting up the computer lab.  Thank you so much for your support!
