FAWE Girls Academic Year Completed
The number of girls receiving computer training at FAWE for the 2013/2014 academic year reached a record high of 84 pupils; from 56 attending the previous year.
Students learned computer operating systems, were familiarized about computer components and input/output devices, and trained how to perform word processing software functions including creating documents.
Wifi access was provided through the Ministry of Education which enabled the girls to learn how to research school topics online to help improve their academic performance.
We also received the provision of an electric meter and power facility which allowed the reduction of noise that was caused by using a generator.
We are thankful and proud of the progress the school and girls have made. With YOUR support, FAWE is able to continue to improve the lives of girls by helping them to become computer literate and self-sufficient.
We look forward to an even better year when schools reopen from Ebola closing,

At what age did you learn how to format text on a computer? Yes - we know times have changed and that kids today are learning at much earlier ages.
That said, we are delighted that girls like Adolpha are becoming computer savvy and learning at earlier ages. This is amazing given that tens of thousands of children in Africa do not have access to this type of free training.
Watch video of Adolpha - the new computer savvy girl!
Why do girls like Adolpha have access to this training? Because of YOU and YOUR support! You are making a difference and making this happen!
We all know that computer literacy is so very important today. The fact that Adolpha and other girls like her have access to this training is outstanding. We are providing a powerful jump start. It means she is empowered and will have an excellent platform as she continues her education. No more struggling to learn how to use a computer when she is in college. Adolpha will be an expert and super-fast, thanks to you.
You truly made the difference!
We wanted to let you know of a fabulous opportunity to continue to make a difference. Today, July 16th is a special Bonus Matching Day and your donations to this project will be matched at 50%, up to $1000.

You are Amazing!

Joshua
Did you know that you are amazing! We simply could not do what we are doing without your on-going help.
This is the message that Joshua passes on this special appreciation video clip. Joshua is the Director of Door of Hope and a key member of our team in Sierra Leone.
In the video, he says to YOU, our GlobalGiving donors that your help has made a LOT of difference in the lives of the kids. He explains in the second part of the video that, because of the support that YOU have provided, computer training is going on well at the FAWE girls' school. The girls are doing well, learning how to use spreadsheets and word processing.
This is worth celebrating and we appreciate you so much for helping to make this possible! We could not have done this without YOUR support.
We are together truly helping the kids become successful and empowering them for a bright future.
Thanks so much for your support that has made a HUGE difference!
