Update from TV Meraj

The TV station puts out programs on a wide range of topics including: news, sport, education, health, photography and life skills and psychology.

Meraj Academy is an educational project broadcasting 6 daily programs on TV Meraj. This project gives access to a comprehensive 7-12th grade education via TV programs and is aimed at all students, but especially girls who are unable to attend school. Teachers are trained specifically to provide lessons through this medium and how to load content to Youtube and interact with students via social media.  Meraj TV receives dozens of messages from the audience every day including messages about academic problems for the academy which shows student engagement with the project. Meraj TV has a specific literacy program and will soon start it Meraj Virtual University program.

Each month the station has guest speakers and in January these included: university professors, culture experts, head of the Afghan dyers union, head of industry and trade in Herat, football expert and a psychologist.

Update from Radio Meraj

The radio station has 3 daily live programs and puts on recorded programs for the rest of the broadcast time. The programs include news, education for young children, law, health and life skills. The station signal reaches 8 districts and 100km.

One listener said: “I have been a listener of Meraj radio for some time and I learned a lot from this medium. The life skills program is one of the best programs that is needed in today's conditions so that young people can overcome difficult situations by choosing the right models and ways of behavior. A few days ago, when the head of money changers of Herat province was a guest of this program, his words really affected me.

I heard that a rich person used to sell handicrafts and later with much thought, planning and work he was able to change his life path.  I said to myself why can't we do this? Every person can learn from listening to such programs and get help to determine the path of his life.”

Thank you for your continued interest in the Meraj Media enterprises.
